GROVE, Okla. — The Grand River Dam Authority Police Department released the name of a drowning victim on Saturday.

Witnesses reported Gibson jumped into the lake, from a boat, to assist a child who had fallen off a towed water device and did not resurface.

The drowning happened near Patricia Island, which is east of Grove.

This is the second drowning on Grand Lake and the third downing in Delaware County this holiday week.

GRDA has not released details surrounding the drowning of a juvenile near Cleora on Friday.

Elsewhere in Delaware County, GRDA officers responded to a reported drowning of a 26-year-old near the Flint Creek Waterpark, west of Siloam Springs, Arkansas on Thursday.
