Surgoinsville to purchase property for maintenance department expansion
The Surgoinsville Board of Mayor and Aldermen informally agreed during Monday’s workshop to move forward with the $135,000 purchase of 113 Hendricks Street to expand the Maintenance Department. Federal judge sentences 4 anti-abortion activists for a 2021 Tennessee clinic blockade
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Four anti-abortion activists who were convicted in January on felony conspiracy charges for their roles in a 2021 Tennessee clinic blockade were sentenced this week to terms ranging from 6 months in prison to three years of supervised release. The sentences were below those asked by prosecutors, and U.S. District Judge Aleta Trauger said she took into account the good works of the defendants in their communities.

Believe In Bristol announces Star Spangled July Fourth event schedule
Believe in Bristol has announced the upcoming schedule of events for Bristol’s annual Star Spangled July Fourth Celebration. This year’s event includes fun activities the whole family can enjoy, complete with a free Border Bash series concert, children’s activities, including free inflatables, food trucks and local craft vendors, and the return of fireworks to close out the night.
