Lions Beach Closed Until Further Notice
The City of Janesville Recreation Division takes weekly water quality samples at Lions Beach (1401 Palmer Dr.). The State Hygiene Lab in Madison tests these samples to monitor for E. coli bacteria. The beach's most recent water quality test performed the week of July 15 showed elevated bacteria levels (1,011 CFU/100 mL) in the swimming area. These results require the Recreation Division to close the beach until subsequent water testing can be done, demonstrating lower results.

Unlike years past, the City of Janesville doesn’t appear to be having any trouble staffing its pools this summer. Aquatics Supervisor Marcus Porchia says through returning lifeguards and word of mouth, they’ve been able to fully staff Rockport Pool this summer. There have been days its been at capacity.
Loves Park Ski Broncs water ski team cancels evening show
LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) - The Ski Broncs water ski show team announces the cancelation of Wednesday night’s free ski show. In a post to social media on July 17, the Loves Park ski team announced that the water levels of the Rock River were too high to perform. The water ski team has had to cancel multiple shows this season due to dangerous river conditions.
