The Denver Nuggets have been faced with off-court drama involving teammates' relatives, notably seen in Michael Porter Jr.'s brothers' legal issues, including Jontay's lifetime NBA ban for betting on games. During the playoffs, Nikola Jokic's brothers were involved in a public altercation at Ball Arena, leading to Strahinja's arrest for third-degree assault. The incident, where a man suffered a concussion, resulted in charges pressed against Strahinja, who claims he was defending an older man. The Jokic brother is due in court on August 21st, with hopes for a swift resolution. Author visits The Bookworm of Edwards to talk about living off-grid in Colorado
As housing and renting costs rise, people are getting more and more creative, and there seems to be a draw for many to rural areas. One such area is the San Luis Valley of southeastern Colorado, where after subdivision projects failed, 5 acre plots in the high desert can be purchased for relatively cheap. In May 2017, author Ted Conover bought one of those five acre plots to see what off-grid life looked like firsthand, and lived off that land over the course of four years. Conover wrote a book about his experiences and will be at The Bookworm of Edwards to share.
