Burkett 15, Saugus 0: Madysen Smith struck out five and didn't allow a hit as Burkett rolled over Saugus in five innings to finish pool play of the 12-under state tournament.
Burkett will play in the state championship at noon Sunday at Borgatti Field in Agawam.
Sophia Carrero doubled and drove in three runs, Annie Friend tripled and drove in four, Sophia Delvalle was 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs and Jailyn Buccico and Sofia Rogers each were 2 for 3 with a double and RBI as Burkett amassed 14 hits.

Bravehearts 8, Westfield 2: Westfield 7, Bravehearts 3: Former Nashoba Regional star Nik Pavia struck out seven over six innings and allowed one earned run on nine hits as the host Bravehearts (22-19) topped Westfield (24-15) in the first game of a doubleheader split at Fitton Field.
The game was a continuation of a postponed game from earlier in the season. Shrewsbury's Ben Griffith had the start in that one, striking out four over three scoreless innings.
Henry DiGiorgio drove in two runs, Owen Pincince was 2 for 2 with one RBI and Timmy Wagner singled and doubled to lead the offense.
In the nightcap, Shea Grady singled twice and Dylan LaPoine, Matt Milone and Wyatt Hoffman drove in runs for Worcester.
American Legion
Leominster 6, Shrewsbury 4: Tyler Godin was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Tony Salvatelli singled twice and drove in a run to pace host Post 151 past Post 397.
J.J. Ferguson singled twice and drove in two runs for Shrewsbury.
