AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Three officers are recovering after they were injured in a car chase that ended at the Route 57 rotary in Agawam.
According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit (FIU) were investigating 20-year-old Davey Quinones of Springfield for the possession of an illegal firearm with a 50-round drum.
Officers were in the area of Lombard Street in Springfield when the suspect spotted officers and tried to drive away, allegedly hitting multiple police cruisers on his way out. A pursuit was made over the South End Bridge into Agawam where Quinones allegedly threw a gun out of his car window and hit another police cruiser near the rotary, ending the chase as he was taken into custody.
