All K-12 students in the Lakota school district now have individual device access for learning. Each student has a touchscreen Chromebook. Second graders have new devices while K-1 students have devices previously used by higher grades. This is part of Lakota's commitment to budget management and equal support for student learning.

Todd Wesley, Chief Technology Officer, thanked everyone for the opportunity to provide each student with a device. He stressed that the devices are for meaningful learning, not for constant computer use.

Lakota's early childhood schools now have a Chromebook cart for each classroom. This ensures each student has a device for use in school, similar to students in grades 3-6.

Students in grades 7-12 have a device for both school and home use. The 1:1 program removes the need for teachers to manage device access. It also creates more opportunities for enrichment programs and extra practice.

Missy Alexander, Principal at Liberty Early Childhood School, spoke about the program's benefits. She said that teachers control when and how long students use these learning devices. This aligns with teaching goals and approved technology use to enhance student learning.
