Fairbury city will host its annual City Wide Residential Clean-Up Week from April 22nd to 24th, 2024. The event aims to encourage residents to help clean the city. Free curbside pick-up service for large items will be provided within the city limits on these days.

Residents must schedule their large item pickup by contacting the Transfer Station or registering online before 4:00 pm on April 18th. Only scheduled pickups will be serviced. Regular garbage items or items in bags or boxes will not be picked up.

Large items like couches, stoves, refrigerators, exercise equipment, and car parts are eligible for pickup. Mattresses are not eligible for curbside pickup but can be disposed of at the transfer station for free. Junked vehicles can be removed for free with proof of ownership.

Residents should not put items curbside too early. Items put out more than 2 weeks before the event will incur a fee. The service is only for residents at qualifying residences and not for businesses. All items must be curbside by 7:00 A.M. on the pickup day.

Materials like shingles, logs, stumps, concrete, building materials, glass, lumber, tires, leaves, grass, garbage, wood pallets, drywall, propane tanks, gas cans, ashes, liquid paint, chemicals, all liquids, and any bagged or boxed items are not eligible for pickup. Workers will decide what materials are eligible.
