Roxboro City is updating its Pedestrian Transportation Plan and wants public feedback. The update, funded by a grant from the NC Department of Transportation, aims to improve pedestrian, bicycle, and transit needs. The public can suggest priority areas, specific projects, and general guidance for the plan.

A Steering Committee, with representatives from the senior community, schools, NCDOT, city staff, and residents, will work with consultant firm Alta Planning + Design. They will review the current transportation plan, adopted in 2008, and suggest updates for future community needs. The committee will also review the existing plan and community priorities.

The consultant team will conduct interviews, assess current conditions with a community tour, and hold public meetings. The first meeting is on April 8th, from 5-7pm, at City Hall. The second is on April 11th, from 5-7pm, at the Kirby Cultural Arts Complex.

The public can review the current plan and suggest future plans during these meetings. An online survey is also available until April 13th. For those without internet or who prefer paper, a printed survey is available at City Hall or the Person County Senior Center.

For more information, contact the Roxboro City Planning & Development Department by email at planning@cityofroxboro.com or by phone at 336-322-6018.
