The Saline County Library will open its East End branch on April 1. The branch, located at 24005 Arch Street Pike, Suite 20, Hensley, AR 72065, will operate like the Benton and Bryant branches, though smaller. The 3,000 square feet building will have a small meeting room, a private study room, a CreativeSpace for arts and crafts, and a computer lab with printing, scanning, and copying capabilities. The branch will also offer limited programs for all ages.

Branch Manager Amanda Garrison is excited about the new branch, stating she had envisioned it for years. She acknowledged the effort put into realizing this project and her team's readiness to serve the community.

The East End branch is expected to house approximately 5,000 items, including new books and duplicate items from the Benton and Bryant branches. The collection will include a mix of fiction and non-fiction books for various age groups, as well as some movies and video games for checkout.

East End community residents are invited to visit the new branch and sign up for a free library card. Library cards are available to anyone over 16 who can provide a photo ID and proof of home, work, or school address in Saline County. Children aged between 5 and 16 can sign up for a children’s library card with a parent or legal guardian. Non-residents with a Pulaski County address can also sign up for a library card for an annual fee of $10.

The East End branch will be open from Monday to Thursday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The branch will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays, with potential changes in hours depending on staff availability and community demand. The space has been leased for three years, with potential for expansion into adjacent suites if necessary.
