Steve Augeri, former lead vocalist of rock group Journey, is scheduled to perform at the Wildstein Center for the Performing Arts at South Florida State College in Avon Park. The concert will take place on Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m. Augeri was part of Journey from 1998 to 2006, replacing original lead singer Steve Perry. During his tenure, he recorded three albums and toured extensively. The Steve Augeri Band, featuring Adam Holland, Gerard Zappa, Craig Pullman, and Adam Augeri, will accompany him.

The concert will include many of Journey's popular songs, such as 'Don't Stop Believin' and 'Faithfully.' Cindy Garren, SFSC's director of cultural programs, anticipates a lively performance. Prior to Journey, Augeri co-founded Tall Stories, an Epic recording artist group. They released their debut album in 1992 and 'Skyscraper' in 2009. Augeri also recorded the 'Shine' album with the melodic rock group Tyketto.

In 2023, Augeri released his first solo album, 'Seven Ways Til Sunday.' He performed on the Bret Michaels 'Pardi Gras' tour that summer alongside Night Ranger, Jefferson Starship, and Mark McGrath. His performance at the Wildstein Center is part of his ongoing solo career.

The Wildstein Center is offering a 50% discount for teachers from Highlands, Hardee, and DeSoto County who present a valid school ID. Tickets start at $38 and can be purchased at the SFSC Box Office, by phone, or online. The Wildstein Center for the Performing Arts, located at 600 West College Drive on the Highlands Campus of South Florida State College, seats 1,460.
