Despite cold and rainy weather, Ladera residents attended the Spring Celebration at Founders Park. The event was held on Saturday, March 23, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., and was organized by Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS). The family event included egg scrambles, carnival games, crafts, and photo opportunities with Peter and Mrs. Rabbit. Some activities were free, while others required an Activity Wristband for access.

Joanne Kopeny, LARCS Event Manager, was pleased with the event's success. She noted that the weather did not dampen the attendees' spirits. Kopeny, a thirteen-year veteran of LARCS, said that despite previous years' rain, this was the first time it had rained during the event. However, the children still participated in the Egg Scrambles.

Judy Young, who organized the scrambles, said the 4-12-year-old groups were energetic, while the 0-3-year-old groups were calmer. Ashley Blair, LARCS Lifestyle Manager, thanked the volunteers and residents for their contributions to the event's success.

New residents Marc and Brenda LeShay volunteered at a LARCS event for the first time. The rain stopped around 2:30 p.m., allowing attendees to enjoy food from various trucks. Blair emphasized that safety is a priority at all LARCS events.

Blair stated that safety will be a focus at the July 4th Celebration and the Summer Concert Series. LARCS is collaborating with the Orange County Fire Authority, the Orange County Sheriff's Department, and an Event Security vendor to ensure safety. Blair warned that illegal use of fireworks or drones could lead to event cancellations. The 'See Something. Say Something.' campaign encourages residents to report suspicious activities to law enforcement.
