Floresville High School plans to host a program on April 19, 2024, to educate students about the risks of drunk driving. The program will include a simulated 911 call and a staged alcohol-related crash scene. The school's juniors and seniors will observe the event. Local first responders, such as AirLife, Fire & EMS, officers from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, Floresville Police Department and DPS, and Emergency Care of Floresville, will participate.

The program might disrupt traffic around Floresville High School and Floresville South Elementary. Once the staged accident scene is cleared, students will return to their regular classes. Counselors will be available throughout the day to support any students affected by the staged accident.

The program is only for high school students and will not be open to the public. It is scheduled for the day before the Class of 2024 Prom. The FHS Student Council DASH Committee, along with local emergency services, officials, and businesses, is organizing the event.

Floresville High School students and their families will receive more information about the event, including how to opt-out, in the near future. The program's goal is to provide a realistic demonstration of the potential outcomes of drinking and driving, with the aim of discouraging students from such behavior.
