Three Butler Community College students were acknowledged at the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-State Academic Team Ceremony in Junction City, KS. April Draut, Sarah Penick, and Jessica Reyes received recognition for their inclusion in the All-State Academic Team. Each student was awarded a $300 stipend, a medal, and a certificate of achievement.

The ceremony was attended by family, friends, and Butler's administration, including President Dr. Kim Krull, Vice President of Student Services Bill Rinkenbaugh, and co-interim Vice Presidents of Academics Dr. Phil Speary and Dr. Heather Rinkenbaugh. Chrissy Gifford, Butler’s PTK chapter advisor, spoke about the significance of the event and the importance of recognizing student achievement.

Gifford commended the students, stating that their inclusion in PTK indicates their high academic standing. She attributed their success to hard work, dedication, and determination, and stressed the need to celebrate their achievements.

Kansas State Representative Kyle Hoffman presented a special recognition to Butler President Dr. Kim Krull during the ceremony. This recognition was given as Dr. Krull approaches her retirement.
