Alfred's Hot Dog Day celebration is scheduled for Saturday, April 20. The official t-shirts will feature a design by Renee Kintner, a first-year EOP student and agricultural technology major. Kintner's design, which represents the spirit of Hot Dog Day, includes two characters, Mr. Mustard and Mr. Hot Dog.

The day will start at 9 a.m. with a 5K run/walk at the Alfred University Bandstand, followed by Weiner Dog Races at 10:30 a.m. on the Bandstand Lawn. The Hot Dog Day Parade will start at noon, moving from S. Main Street to Church Street.

At 1 p.m., the Alfred State Carnival will open in Parking Lot 3, between the Student Leadership Center and the Townhouses, offering rides, games, and food until 5 p.m. A vendor fair will also take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Main Street and in the Community Bank parking lot.

Live music will be performed at the Bandstand and the Carnival, and a zip line and dunk tank will be set up in the Jordan Hall parking lot. The day will end with a Paint & Powder Park event at 7:30 p.m. on Brick Lawn.

Proceeds from the event will support local organizations such as A.E. Crandall Hook & Ladder, Alfred Montessori School, and Alfred State Fire Co., among others. Hot Dog Day, established in 1972, is a tradition for students to contribute to the local community.
