Local Summer Opportunity: SOWELA's Culinary Camps for Kids in Lake Charles and Jennings

SOWELA Technical Community College will host Culinary Camps this summer at its main campus in Lake Charles and its Jennings site. The camps are for children in seventh to ninth grades. Each site will have two sessions, providing several opportunities for participants.

The Lake Charles campus will hold camps from June 17-21 and June 24-28. The Jennings site will have its sessions from July 15-19 and July 29 – August 2. Camps run Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The cost is $290 per child, covering daily breakfast and lunch, and all cooking supplies. Campers will learn from SOWELA’s Culinary Arts chefs in industrial kitchens.

Why can't anyone sponsor any of the kids many would love to do this but $290 per child vs food for the month is hard but I guess it's only for the privileged because most of us can't send 3 kids unfortunately.
