The 40th Salina Spring Poetry Series will conclude with a reading by Patricia Traxler on Tuesday, April 30. Organized by Salina Arts & Humanities, the event will be held at Red Fern Booksellers at 106 S Santa Fe Ave, starting at 7 pm. Admission is $5, payable in cash at the door, and free for students with an ID.

This year's series, curated by Kansas Poet Laureate Traci Brimhall, features a diverse group of poets. The aim is to present a variety of perspectives and voices to the Salina audience.

Patricia Traxler, co-founder of the Salina Spring Poetry Series, has been a key figure in Salina’s cultural community. After moving from San Diego, she has taught at Kansas Wesleyan University for over thirty years and participated in various cultural initiatives.

Traxler has published four volumes of poetry, a novel titled 'Blood,' and a collection of short stories, 'In the Skin.' She is currently working on a book of essays and a poetry collection. Her work has been featured in notable publications in the U.S. and Ireland.
