Mohave Community College recently held its annual Mathlympics at the MCC Lake Havasu Campus. The event took place on Friday, April 19, and attracted over 130 high school students from Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City, Mohave Valley, Needles, and Parker. These students participated in challenging math assessments to showcase their skills and knowledge.

Eight local high schools were represented, including River Valley High School, Needles High School, Lake Havasu High School, Mohave Accelerated Learning Center, Academy of Building Industries High School, Parker High School, Telesis Preparatory Academy, and Mohave High School. The students competed for top honors in both individual and team categories.

This year, a new team relay component was introduced, where teams solved math problems in a relay race format. This encouraged teamwork and collaborative problem-solving. The new component was positively received and brought an additional challenge to the competition.
