The Kentucky State Police Post 10, which operates in Harlan, Bell, and Knox counties, has announced plans to set up traffic safety checkpoints. These checkpoints are designed to improve road safety by enforcing traffic laws according to the Kentucky Revised Statutes. They will address issues such as driver impairment, vehicle equipment deficiencies, and proper vehicle documentation including registration and insurance. The checkpoints also aim to ensure all drivers have valid licenses. The goal is to deter traffic violations and enhance public safety through high-visibility enforcement. The checkpoints are intended to proactively identify and address safety issues to prevent accidents and injuries. The Kentucky State Police encourages public participation in maintaining highway safety. People can report impaired drivers or criminal activities by calling the KSP toll-free number or by using the KSP Crime Tip Form on their website. For more information about the locations of these traffic safety checkpoints, visit the Kentucky State Police website. This site offers updates and further details about the region's safety initiatives.'
