    Local Stars Shine: Bethel's Vicky Gracy and Teammates Win Top Honors in Women’s Lacrosse

    Western Connecticut State University's women's lacrosse team performed well in the 2024 Little East Conference (LEC) season. Senior Vicky Gracy, from Bethel, was named LEC Women’s Lacrosse Midfielder of the Year for the second time. She also made the LEC All-Conference First Team with teammates Alexa Riggio and Anneliese Reggio. Freshman Isabella Pota, from East Meadow, New York, was named LEC Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Year.

Pota, Molly Bresnahan, Faye Junge, Natalie Mazza, and Madison Ratchford made the Second Team. Katelyn Contreras was chosen for the LEC Women’s Lacrosse Sportsmanship Team, emphasizing the team's commitment to sportsmanship.

    Coached by Rachael Griffith in her first year, WestConn ended the season with a 12-6 record and a 7-0 conference record, winning the Little East regular season title. However, they were defeated by Plymouth State University in the LEC Championship Tournament semifinals.
