The Statesville Recreation & Parks Department has teamed up with the Iredell County Partnership for Young Children (ICPYC) to offer the Zumbini® program at the Statesville Fitness & Activity Center. This program targets children from 0 to 4 years old and uses music and movement to support early childhood development. Zumbini® was created by the founders of Zumba® and BabyFirstTM to improve cognitive, social, motor, and emotional skills. It also aims to create a fun space for parents and children to interact.

A free demonstration class is scheduled for May 22, 2024, from 4:00pm to 4:45pm at the Statesville Fitness & Activity Center. Delight Gilley from ICPYC will lead this session, giving parents and their children an opportunity to try the Zumbini® program. Participants must register in advance to join this free event.

After a successful demonstration, a full 10-week Zumbini® course will start on July 10, 2024. Classes will be held every Wednesday until September 11, 2024, at the same time and place as the demonstration. Registration is required and free.

For more information about the Zumbini® program, the demonstration, or the full course, parents can contact Delight Gilley at 704-878-9980 or via email at [email protected] Additional details are available on the ICPYC website.
