The Troy-Miami County Public Library (TMCPL) has announced the Summer Reading Challenge 2024, open to readers of all ages. The challenge begins on June 3, and registration is available at any TMCPL branch, including the Oakes-Beitman Memorial Library in Pleasant Hill, the Maker Lab at Hobart Government Center, and the Troy Bookmobile. Participants will use the Beanstack Tracker app to record their reading and activity progress.

This year's challenge includes a variety of reading and activity tasks, which are tracked on a hot air balloon-themed log. Completing 30 panels on the log qualifies participants for an Adventure Prize. Tasks include reading daily for 20 minutes, having a reading picnic, attending library programs, and exploring local parks.

TMCPL is offering several programs to support the challenge, such as meetings with penguins, magic shows, STEAM labs, crafting sessions, yoga, and book clubs. These are available at all TMCPL locations, with more details in the program brochure and on the library’s event calendar.

Participants who finish the challenge can collect a completion prize between July 24 and August 3, and enter a drawing for an Adventure Experience Grand Prize. Prizes include tickets to the Columbus Zoo, COSI, IFLY, Great Wolf Lodge, Dayton Dragons games, and Scene 75, sponsored by the Troy Eagles.
