Lewis and Clark Community College (L&C) is preparing to reveal a new interactive mural by Jeannette Carrington, a Graphic Design student. The mural, named 'Becoming,' will be unveiled on Tuesday afternoon at The Commons on the Godfrey Campus. It will be displayed for a year on the eastern exterior wall of The Commons in the McPike Math and Science Complex.

Jeannette Carrington is pursuing an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Graphic Design, with an expected graduation in Spring 2025. She drew inspiration for her mural from discussions with her husband and various comic books. After initially struggling with a different idea, these influences helped her finalize the design, reflecting the aspirations of L&C students.

Carrington is also the editor-in-chief of The Bridge, L&C’s student newspaper. Besides her studies, she works full-time and is a mother. She has received several awards, including Photographer of the Year in 2023 and the Outstanding Leadership Award from The Bridge in 2024.

Carrington returned to college at age 46, driven by her passion for graphic design, which she has been practicing since 2000. She chose to study graphic design at L&C due to the program's affordability and accessibility, encouraged by a positive experience with a class funded by her employer at L&C in 2010.
