Bethel Park will hold its annual Memorial Day Program on Monday, May 27, rain or shine. The event starts with a Morning Ceremony at 7:55 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Plaza in front of the Municipal Building at 5100 W. Library Ave. A parade will follow at 9 a.m., beginning at the same location and ending at the Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery with a commemorative service.

The parade route starts at the Municipal Building, turns left onto Highland Ave., then left on Bethel Church Rd., and concludes at the Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. This procession honors those who have served and sacrificed.

After the parade and cemetery service, a luncheon will take place at the Bethel Park Community Center at 5151 Park Ave. around noon. The Municipality, the American Legion, and the Jugo Slav Club support this gathering, allowing community members to come together in remembrance.

The event will also include a keynote speech by Richard (Dick) G. Jewell, a Bethel Park resident and recipient of the U.S. Army Meritorious Service Medal. Jewell will discuss the significance of Memorial Day, referencing historical military speeches, including General MacArthur’s address at West Point in 1962.
