On a Tuesday morning at the Malcolm Rector Center for Advanced Careers and Innovation, fifty-one Nacogdoches High School students participated in the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Senior Signing Day. This event recognized students who have secured jobs, or gained acceptance into college or military programs related to their CTE studies. They signed agreements, committing to their future career paths.

The ceremony included speeches from Mark Durand, the Executive Director of Workforce Solutions of Deep East Texas, and Dr. Gabriel Trujillo, the Superintendent of NISD. They emphasized the value of career and technical education and congratulated the students on their achievements. Families attended to support and celebrate the students' accomplishments.

During the event, each student was introduced and signed their agreements, formalizing their commitments to their future careers. This act also publicly acknowledged their effort and dedication during their high school years.

The students recognized were from various CTE fields. For example, Payton Pierce from the Animal Science pathway signed to continue her studies at Tarleton State University in Pre-Veterinarian studies. Alexander Curtis from Engineering secured a spot at Texas A&M Galveston to study Industrial Engineering. In Health Science, Sydney Rotramel will attend Angelina College to train as an Emergency Medical Technician.
