The 2024 Bridgeport Carnival is scheduled for June 18-22. This year, the event will include a beer and wine garden and live musical performances every night, expanding from its previous schedule of live music during the last three nights only.

Local artists, face painters, and balloon artists will perform each evening. The Bridgeport Fire Department will operate a new food stand, offering burgers, hot dogs, sausages, tater tots, and fried dough, supporting local fire services.

Volunteer opportunities are available at the ticket booths, requiring approximately 3.5 hours each night. Volunteers will handle cash transactions and manage entry, receiving a free wristband for unlimited carnival rides and meals from the BFD food stand in return.

On the final day, June 22, from 3 pm to 7 pm, the carnival will host a local vendor market. This market allows local vendors, food service providers, and artisans to display their products.

I see stories like this and for a brief moment I think there might be hope for culture and community activities people actually want to visit with their families in Bridgeport....until I realize this is much too nice for Bridgeport, CT. The Bridgeports in West Virginia and Pennsylvania seem like lovely places. Wish I could say the same about CT.
