Homes For Iowa Delivers 100th Home To Rippey This Week
Homes for Iowa (HFI), in partnership with Iowa Prison Industries (IPI), is celebrating a significant milestone this week as the 100th home constructed through the program was delivered. HFI began in 2020 as a job training initiative for inmates at the Newton Correctional Facility, and the first home was delivered and placed in Jefferson that same year. The 100th HFI house was placed on its foundation in Rippey earlier this week. Region XII Council of Governments serves as HFI’s fiscal agent, and Executive Director Rick Hunsaker says they are proud to be associated with this work.

Local Food Pantry In Crisis: Help Raise Money To Prevent Shutdown
A food pantry in Cedar Rapids that serves thousands may soon close if it doesn't receive some financial help. CBS2 reports that Together We Achieve, a food pantry in Cedar Rapids is on the brink of closure. That would leave thousands of local residents without access to food. The food bank has distributed over 2 million pounds of food but faces an uncertain future. It needs to raise $50,000 by August 31st to remain operational through the end of this year.

Caitlin Clark continued to make history as the Indiana Fever stoked the flame of its post-Olympics hot streak in an 84-80 win over the Connecticut Sun Tuesday night.
