Victim carjacked by man he gave a ride to in Airway Heights

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -- A man had his vehicle stolen from a person he gave a ride to in Airway Heights Sunday.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office, the victim was getting gas at a station near S. Hayford Road and Highway 2 in Airway Heights around 1:20 p.m. Sunday.

Deputies say the suspect asked the victim for a ride who agreed. After arriving, the suspect pulled a gun and hit the victim several times.

SCSCO says a second vehicle arrived and that driver joined in the attack. The victim also injured his finger which was smashed in the vehicle's door as the suspects escaped.

The victim's green 1999 Ford Mustang was taken and neither suspect was located.
