Riverwood to host surgery expansion grand opening

Riverwood Healthcare Center is thrilled to invite the community to the grand opening of its newly expanded surgery addition on Monday, August 12, from 4—6 p.m., This celebration marks the culmination of a significant two-year project aimed at enhancing healthcare services in our region.

Designed by DSGW Architects and constructed by Kraus-Anderson, the new 72,000-square-foot addition represents a transformative upgrade from our current surgery department. Beginning in August 2022, this extensive project has doubled our operating rooms from three to six, incorporating state-of-the-art robotics and advanced surgical technologies.

In addition to the expanded operating rooms, the new surgery suite boasts two procedure rooms, three endoscopy suites, 25 pre-op and recovery rooms, a post-anesthesia care unit, and a sterile processing area. The surgery addition also features dedicated space for outpatient clinic care for general surgery, urology, and ear, nose, and throat.

The grand opening event will feature a short program at 4:30 p.m., followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Guided tours of the new surgery addition, along with light refreshments and appetizers, will be available throughout the event. No RSVP is needed.
