If you’ve been following billionaire Ken Griffin’s journey from Chicago to Miami, you’ll know he’s been making some pretty big moves lately. His company, Citadel, has been expanding its footprint in the Sunshine State, and it looks like Griffin isn’t planning to pack up anytime soon.

Griffin and Citadel made headlines in 2022 when they relocated from Chicago to Miami. Since then, Griffin hasn’t just been settling in—he’s been investing heavily in the area. From generous donations to local institutions to the recent news about Citadel’s office expansion, Griffin’s commitment to Florida is crystal clear.

Just last June, Citadel revealed they’d be taking up an extra 8 floors at 830 Brickell Plaza in Miami’s bustling Brickell Financial District. That’s an additional 37,000 square feet of office space, all to accommodate their growing team. Sounds like they’re on a hiring spree!

But that’s not all. Griffin’s plans for Miami are getting even grander. Citadel’s associated companies have just filed a pre-application with Miami-Dade County for a new, massive headquarters on Brickell Bay Drive. This future tower isn’t just about office space—it’s set to include everything from hotels and retail spaces to health and fitness facilities. Plus, there’ll be plenty of dining options.

Construction is expected to take around three years, and while it’s still unclear if other businesses will lease space in the new building, it’s shaping up to be quite the landmark. Griffin has been vocal about his frustrations with “the deluge of bureaucracy” in northern cities, noting how South Florida offers a refreshing contrast.

So, as Ken Griffin continues to put down roots in Miami and build a new HQ, it’s clear he’s fully embracing the Florida lifestyle. What do you think of his big move? Are you excited to see the new Citadel headquarters?

Miami and pretty much all of Florida is where Marxism dies. Capitalists such as Ken know this.
