If you’ve ever been to one of the few remaining locations in Florida, you know this chain is all about building the perfect burger. But one of its five Sunshine State locations, the Hialeah Fuddruckers, recently hit a bit of a roadblock after a state inspection led to a temporary closure. Here’s what went down.

    What Happened at the Inspection?

Things took a turn when the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation showed up for an inspection on August 14, 2024. Inspectors noted 7 violations, with some pretty concerning findings. Among the basic violations were clean utensils being stored between equipment and the wall (not exactly the cleanest spot), dead roaches were found, and a wiping cloth wasn’t stored in sanitizing solution between uses.

On top of that, an intermediate violation was noted because the handwash sink was being used for purposes other than washing hands—definitely not what you want in a kitchen. But the big issue? Live roaches were observed, which led to the temporary shutdown of the restaurant.

    A Quick Turnaround

Thankfully for burger lovers in Hialeah, the restaurant wasted no time addressing the issues. After a follow-up inspection on August 15, 2024, no violations were found, and the restaurant met inspection standards, allowing them to reopen. So, if you were worried about missing out on your next Fuddruckers fix, rest easy—the Hialeah location is back in business.

It’s always disappointing to hear about a restaurant struggling with health code violations, especially one as beloved as Fuddruckers. But the quick turnaround shows they’re committed to keeping things clean and up to standard. If you’re in the Hialeah area and craving a burger, you can once again build your dream burger at Fuddruckers.

What do you think? Will this news make you pause before heading in, or are you happy they’ve bounced back quickly? Let’s keep the conversation going!

If they use enough pesticides to kill every little bug in a busy spot, that stuff is not good for you at all ??!
