It looks like Floridians are about to get more than just a place to fill up their gas tanks, as two popular convenience store chains, Wawa and Casey’s, are expanding into new locations in the state. These gas stations are well-known for offering much more than just fuel, providing shoppers with a wide range of snacks, meals, and groceries. With a new Wawa coming to the Villages and Casey’s expanding into the Panhandle, Floridians will have even more options for grabbing a quick bite while on the road.

    Wawa: A Florida Favorite

Wawa isn’t new to Florida. The first Wawa store opened in Orlando in 2012, and since then, the chain has grown rapidly across the state, with about 280 locations already operating. Now, a brand-new Wawa is in the works for the Villages, bringing its popular sandwiches, soups, and coffee to even more Floridians. Construction crews are already working on a 6,119-square-foot convenience store at the corner of County Road 466A and County Road 462, which will feature eight gas pumps for added convenience.

Wawa has become a favorite for its fresh food options, with Florida’s top choice being the Toasted Cheese Steak Classic. Many customers also rave about the coffee, with the “light and mild” blend being the state’s most popular option.

With its clean stores, friendly staff, and made-to-order meals, it’s no surprise that Wawa continues to win over Floridians. The new location in the Villages is expected to provide the same level of service and convenience that locals have come to appreciate.

Casey’s: A Newcomer with a Lot to Offer

While Wawa has already made a name for itself in Florida, Casey’s is relatively new to the Sunshine State. Originally founded in 1968, this convenience store chain has built a reputation for its delicious pizza, which is available in a variety of flavors, including breakfast and taco options. Like Wawa, Casey’s offers more than just gas, making it a great one-stop-shop for hungry travelers.

Casey’s has been expanding its presence in southern states, and a major step toward that goal came with its recent $1.145 billion purchase of CEFCO convenience stores. This acquisition will help Casey’s establish itself in the Florida Panhandle, where new stores are expected to open soon.

Casey’s expansion into Florida will give residents and travelers more food options while on the road, especially for those who are curious about trying their signature pizzas. With the company’s strong Midwest roots and growing popularity in other states, Casey’s is likely to bring something new and exciting to Florida’s convenience store scene.

    More Than Just Gas

While many Floridians may still think of gas stations as quick stops for snacks and drinks, chains like Wawa and Casey’s are changing the game by offering fresh meals, signature items, and a variety of grocery options. Whether you’re craving a sub from Wawa or a slice of pizza from Casey’s, these new stores are sure to become popular stops for people across the state.

As Florida continues to grow and attract more visitors and new residents, having additional options like Wawa and Casey’s makes grabbing a quick, tasty meal on the go easier than ever. With new locations on the horizon, it’s safe to say that Floridians will be well-fed no matter where they’re headed!
