Hey Florida shoppers! Something big is happening on Atlantic Boulevard, and it’s not your typical grocery store. Lotte Market, a specialty Asian and Korean grocer, is moving into the old Best Buy at 9355 Atlantic Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida. If you’re into fresh produce, international foods, and exciting new flavors, this place might just become your new go-to spot.

The Best Buy location closed its doors back in the spring of 2021 as part of the company’s nationwide consolidation, leaving behind a sizable 45,799-square-foot space on nearly 3.4 acres. But soon, it’ll be transformed into a massive Lotte Market, bringing with it a huge selection of groceries, a produce department filled with exotic fruits and veggies, and an international food court that’s sure to satisfy adventurous eaters.

For those who may not be familiar, Lotte Market is known for its wide range of Asian and Korean products. But don’t worry if that’s not usually your style — they also have all the traditional grocery departments, including meat, seafood, and more. Plus, their produce section is something to behold. According to Orlando Real, Lotte’s produce department takes up more than a third of the store, offering a variety of fresh, unique fruits and vegetables that you probably won’t find in your average grocery store.

The market has already gained fans at its locations in Orlando and Tampa. In fact, the Tampa Lotte Market is highly rated, with 4.4 stars on Google.

As for Jacksonville’s location, it’s been in the works for a while, but delays with permits have pushed back the opening. Now, Lotte Market is eyeing an early 2025 opening. President Alvin Lee told the Jax Daily Record, “We believe we are near the finish line, and the contractors are ready to go once the permits are issued. It looks like a 1st quarter 2025 opening. We will do our best to open as quickly as we can.”

And it doesn’t stop there — Lotte Market has big plans for Florida. After Jacksonville, a Miami location is reportedly next on the list.

So, if you’re looking for something different than your usual grocery run to Publix or Walmart, keep an eye out for Lotte Market in early 2025. It promises to be a unique shopping experience with plenty of fresh produce, international flavors, and a food court that’ll make you want to linger a little longer!
