A Private Aviation Company Based in Wisconsin to Open New Base in Florida
21 days ago
Jet Out, Inc., a private aviation company based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has announced the expansion of its services with a new base at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). This expansion marks the company's first operational move outside the Midwest, as it seeks to strengthen its presence in the South Florida region.
The company, which specializes in private jet services and aircraft co-ownership, will station two Cessna Citation CJ4 Gen 2 aircraft at its new Fort Lauderdale base. These jets, known for their advanced technology and efficiency, seat up to 10 passengers each, providing both business and leisure travelers with flexible and comfortable travel options.
Partnership with Sheltair Aviation
Jet Out's new facility at FLL will be housed within the space owned by Sheltair Aviation, a well-established Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) based in Fort Lauderdale. FBOs like Sheltair offer critical services such as aircraft refueling, maintenance, and passenger support, which are essential for private aviation operations.
The decision to partner with Sheltair was made through a competitive request for proposal (RFP) process, with Jet Out selecting the FBO due to its excellent facilities and high service standards. However, Jet Out plans to independently handle certain operational tasks such as maintenance and cleaning with its own local team, further enhancing efficiency.
Local Job Creation and Operational Efficiency
As part of its expansion, Jet Out has announced plans to hire local pilots, mechanics, and aircraft detailers to support its growing operations in South Florida. These new roles will help the company maintain its aircraft and ensure smooth operations while contributing to the local economy.
Jet Out's CEO, Joseph Crivello, emphasized the importance of the new base, noting, "By positioning our aircraft near our clients' most frequent destinations, we can offer a more personalized and efficient service to our co-owners across South Florida."
The Fort Lauderdale base will also feature a client lounge, providing co-owners with a dedicated space to relax before and after flights, ensuring a seamless and comfortable experience.
Expanding Reach Beyond the Midwest
Jet Out's move into Fort Lauderdale is part of its broader strategy to grow beyond the Midwest. The company, which began in 2014 as the corporate flight department for Phoenix Investors, transitioned into a private aviation service provider in 2018. By offering fractional ownership of aircraft and an empty-leg buyback program, Jet Out has been able to provide cost-effective private aviation solutions to clients.
The new Fort Lauderdale base will enable Jet Out to serve its growing customer base in South Florida, which spans from Miami to Stuart. With access to over 5,000 regional airports, Jet Out’s fleet offers flexibility that is particularly valuable to business travelers and high-net-worth individuals looking for alternatives to commercial air travel.
Fort Lauderdale’s Growing Role in Private Aviation
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is a key player in Florida’s aviation landscape, with both commercial and private flights contributing to its growth. In 2023, the airport served over 35.1 million passengers, a significant increase from the previous year. FLL is home to four FBOs and is a major hub for private aviation.
Jet Out’s expansion into this market aligns with the growing demand for personalized, flexible air travel options in South Florida. By establishing a base at FLL, the company is well-positioned to tap into this demand while offering a high level of service to its clients.
