Popular Beach Brand Shuts Down All Locations, Including Florida, After Bankruptcy

If you’re a Salt Life fan, there's some big news you need to know! The well-loved beach brand is shutting down all 28 of its stores across 10 states. But don’t worry – Salt Life isn’t disappearing entirely. They’re shifting gears and focusing on online sales and wholesale distribution instead.

So, why the sudden change? It turns out Salt Life's parent company, Delta Apparel Inc., recently went through bankruptcy and was sold to Iconix International and Hilco. This means they're letting go of the physical stores to concentrate on growing their online presence and wholesale business.

If you’ve got your eye on Salt Life gear, now’s the time to snag some deals! All stores are having liquidation sales, with discounts up to 40% on everything from tees and hoodies to tumblers and shorts. And if you’ve ever wanted a piece of Salt Life history, you can even purchase store fixtures and equipment at a discounted rate.

A quick heads-up: gift cards are only being accepted for the first 30 days of the sale, which means you’ve got until October 20, 2024, to use them. After that date, they won’t be valid anymore. The same goes for returns – you’ve got until October 20 to return anything bought before September 20. Just remember, all sales made on or after September 20 are final.

For those curious about where the closures are happening, all 28 Salt Life stores in states like Florida, California, and Texas are on the chopping block. Some notable locations include Boca Raton, Daytona Beach, and Key West in Florida; Huntington Beach, California; and Texas City, Texas.

Salt Life began its journey back in 2003 as a simple decal brand, eventually growing into a full-blown lifestyle brand that catered to ocean lovers with everything from swimwear to sunglasses. The brand even ventured into restaurants and beer! Unfortunately, financial struggles forced them to rethink their business model, leading to the closure of these stores.

While it's sad to see the physical locations go, it’s not the end of Salt Life. This pivot to e-commerce could mean even more opportunities for fans to grab their favorite gear online. So, what do you think about this big shift for Salt Life? Let’s hope their new strategy helps them ride the waves to success!

Is it maybe due to the founder being charged for murder…? Doesn’t that have some part in the brand’s decline??
