Chick-fil-A is set to make a significant impact on the Miami-Dade community with the opening of four new locations, bringing more than 500 full- and part-time jobs to the region. This move marks a continuation of the fast-food chain’s expansion throughout South Florida.

The Atlanta-based company has already opened one of the four locations, Chick-fil-A Coconut Palm in Homestead, on October 3, 2024. The other three locations, set to open between late 2024 and early 2025, are in Homestead, Cutler Bay, and Pinecrest.

New Franchise Locations and Local Ownership

Chick-fil-A has emphasized local ownership for each of these new locations, entrusting the leadership to Miami-Dade residents with strong ties to the company:

    • Chick-fil-A Coconut Palm: Located at 11250 S.W. 248th St. in Homestead, this restaurant is operated by Drew Kelly, who has been with the company for years and helped launch 11 locations nationwide through the Chick-fil-A Leadership Development Program.
    • Chick-fil-A Homestead: Situated at 3200 N.E. 8th St., this store will be operated by Tyler Abrahamsen, who has been with the company since 2018, following in his family’s footsteps as owner-operators of Chick-fil-A franchises.
    • Chick-fil-A Cutler Bay: Located at 18240 S. Dixie Hwy, this store will be owned by Oliver Moore, a U.S. Army veteran and West Point graduate who transitioned to the fast-food industry after 14 years of military service.
    • Chick-fil-A Pinecrest: Set to open at 13001 S. Dixie Hwy, this location will be run by Karyna Kaufmann, who started her journey with Chick-fil-A as a teenager. She has since become a franchise owner and operates two other locations, one in the Dadeland Mall and another in Gainesville.

    Chick-fil-A’s Community Impact

In celebration of these new openings, Chick-fil-A is donating $100,000 to Feeding South Florida, a local nonprofit that helps combat hunger in the area. Additionally, the new Miami-Dade locations will participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which has already donated over 186,000 meals in the region.

The company’s commitment to community engagement and philanthropy is a cornerstone of its brand, aligning with its expansion goals. In addition to the store openings, Chick-fil-A’s new food and beverage logistics center in Weston is expected to further boost the local economy, creating 116 jobs and representing a $55.5 million capital investment.

Chick-fil-A's Growing Presence in South Florida

Chick-fil-A's expansion in Miami-Dade reflects its broader strategy to strengthen its footprint in South Florida. With over 35 locations already established in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market, the fast-food chain is rapidly growing, creating opportunities for both employment and community involvement.

Founded in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy, Chick-fil-A is now the third-largest quick-service restaurant chain in the U.S., with over 3,000 locations and more than 200,000 team members across North America. In the competitive South Florida market, Chick-fil-A rivals other industry giants such as Burger King, McDonald’s, Shake Shack, and Raising Cane’s.

The new locations are expected to meet the growing demand for Chick-fil-A’s signature menu and service, while also contributing to the local economy through job creation and community support initiatives.
