The young boy who was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike in Firestone Park on July 11 has died, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office.

Kingston Solomon, 7, passed away the next day, July 12, at Akron Children's Hospital at 2:35 p.m. His death was from blunt force trauma to the head and was ruled an accident, Gary Guenther of the medical examiner's office said.

Officers originally responded to the accident at the intersection of Dahlgren Drive and Rosemary Boulevard at about 5:52 p.m. An SUV was going westbound on Rosemary Boulevard when the driver struck Kingston while he was crossing the street.

Akron police are still investigating the incident, Lt. Jason Beck said Monday.
