Hurricane Debby is some 600 miles away impacting the Carolinas.

But it is expected to impact the weather in northern Ohio on Thursday.

The National Weather Service says the extreme outer bands of the hurricane that has brought heavy rains and damaging winds from Florida to Georgia and now the Carolinas will bring instability and showers to northern Ohio.

While northern Ohio's impact from Debby will be minimal, forecasters say it may help spark some thunderstorms as it interacts with a weak cold front crossing the region.

The combination is expected to bring high humidity and the potential for heavy rain this afternoon and evening.

It's been a tough weather week for northern Ohio as many residents are still in the dark and cleaning up from a line of severe storms that brought damaging wind gusts and even two confirmed tornadoes in Cuyahoga County on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service says it plans to continue its storm surveys on Thursday.

And like Tuesday's storms, the rain could impact Thursday night's John Legend concert with the Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center.

Concerts at the venue typically go on rain or shine but performances can be delayed in the event of lightning.
