Twinsburg football’s impact players
If you didn’t know yet, the Tigers will go through Division II second-team All-Ohioan Pollock . The senior is a three-year starter and is poised to break several school records. “He is poised, can make every throw, mobile, and is a team captain,” Saulter said. … Okuma, who was part of the state finalist baseball team, has added significant size and strength and should pick up right where he left off. Add Herndon as a deep threat and Collins at tight end and the passing game could be a menace for the opposition, especially with Geho and Cunningham returning at the tackle positions.
What's new with Twinsburg football in 2024
There’s a familiar face on defense with a new position as Dunbar moves from end to middle linebacker. Kramer, Lucas Kienzlan and Ferell join him in the middle. … With 23 seniors lost to graduation there is going to be a bit of change, especially in the secondary, which features newcomers Tristan Addison, Bearon Grant and Andre Border. “This year we have focused on our effort and attitude,” Saulter said. “We are excited about some sophomores that are ready for the next level such as Jerry Chapman, Noah Maxwell, Kyler Hoon. Up front we look forward to seeing sophomores Gavin Rathbone and Paul Hawersaat step into huge roles in the offensive line.”
Twinsburg football’s outlook
The Tigers were the feel-good team of Greater Akron after Saulter navigated Twinsburg to its first playoff appearance, minus the COVID season, since 2010 . The Tigers even picked up a first-round win over Nordonia to avenge a loss to the Knights earlier in the season. With Pollock behind center, the squad could be solid yet again. “We look to build off of that in 2024, as we have continued to change our culture,” Saulter said. “We are excited about the buy-in that we have received from our community. Our numbers have gone up on all levels, and people are once again excited about football in Twinsburg. Our team will certainly see some new faces in some key roles this season, as we have had a great offseason, and seen some monumental gains in the weight room. We are also excited about our new facilities, as our kids will have a new and updated locker room and coaches offices will be revamped."
