Cedar Point is extending its 2024 season, adding one more weekend for visitors to experience the park's annual Halloween festival.

HalloWeekends will now run through Nov. 2. Park spokesman Tony Clark told WKYC TV-3 in Cleveland that the addition just made sense. The park previously planned to end its season on Oct. 27.

"Given the popularity of our HalloWeekends event, along with its proximity to Halloween, we've decided to extend the event by adding November 1 and 2," Clark told 3News. "All HalloWeekends offerings are scheduled to be available both days."

HalloWeekends begins Sept. 12 at Cedar Point

Now in its 27th year, HalloWeekends runs Thursdays through Sundays starting Sept. 12.

According to its website , HalloWeekends offers "daytime family activities like corn and hay mazes, pint-sized tractors for kids, pumpkin decorating, games and trick-or-treating, plus nighttime haunted mazes, scare zones and entertainment." Cedar Point has yet to release full details of this year's event.

If you're looking to join the show, Cedar Point is still hiring HalloWeekend Screamsters. According to the job listing , Screamsters can earn up to $19.25 an hour and will:

    • Wear theatrical makeup, prosthetics and a costume as a costumed character
    • Entertain guests as a costumed character with hand and body movements as well as vocalization
    • Rehearse and perform the monster role as originally scripted and/or conceived
    • Interact in a frightening way to entertain guests by portraying a defined character

Top Thrill 2 roller coaster still closed

Cedar Point's newest roller coaster, Top Thrill 2, has been grounded since May for repairs . The theme park was seen testing the coaster in late July, creating a buzz on social media that it might reopen before the end of the season. However, the park has not provided an update on the coaster's status since early June.

According to that June 4 update , the coaster's manufacturer, Zamperla, is working on modifications to Top Thrill 2's vehicles. Once complete, Zamperla, the park's maintenance and operations teams and its third-party ride inspection partner will review the modification before giving the OK for the ride to reopen.
