Akron Pride 2024 has lots on tap for Aug. 21-24. Here's what you need to know

The Akron Pride festival is coming up next week and there are three main events that run Aug. 21-24.

Starting Wednesday, Aug. 21, the Stadium Virginium: PRIDE! show featuring Virginia West and the West Family takes the Knight Stage at the Akron Civic Theater. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and will have a variety of entertainers including:

• Kardi Redd Diamond, APF Drag Artist of the Year 2024
• Zoey Zegai, APF Drag Artist of the Year 2024 Alternate
• Cherry Veneer, Miss Akron Pride Festival 2019
• Jace Blaze, Mr. Ohio King All-Star
• Samantha Styles, Miss Interbelt Nightclub

Tickets are on sale on Ticketmaster.com and the Akron Civic box office.

Akron Pride Festival 5K

On Friday, Aug. 23, the Bounce Innovation Hub will host The Akron Pride Festival 5K run starting at 6:30 p.m.

It will start at Bounce and end near Missing Falls Brewery where there will be an after party, located at Canal Place on South Main Street.

To register you can visit https://akronpride5k.enmotive.com . You can also register for the online run if you can't make it in person.

Akron Pride Festival and Equity March

The grand finale will be on Saturday, Aug. 24, with the Akron Pride Festival. Events kick off with the 10 a.m. Equity March, which winds its way to the heart of downtown along South Main Street for festival events through 4 p.m.

People will be able to enjoy local and national entertainers, exhibitors, interactive children's area, food trucks, nosh and so much more.
