    The streak has ended.

For the first time in weeks this summer, Greater Akron is no longer considered to be in a drought.

The recent flooding rain that dropped anywhere from 2 to 7 inches in the region has helped end the streak.

The last drought map from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows much of the drought concerns have ended in Northeast Ohio with the exception of a sliver of "abnormally dry" conditions in extreme northwest Summit County through Medina County into northwest Wayne County. Portage County is clear of any drought conditions.

Around 60% of Ohio is still considered to be in a drought with far southeast counties in the state under extreme drought conditions.

And for northern Ohio, the National Weather Service says there's no rain in the forecast into the foreseeable future.

The fall-like temperatures are expected to melt away as high temperatures rise into the upper 80s and even hit 90 degrees by Sunday.
