Summit County grand jury indicted 32-year-old Issac Armour of Akron on Friday in connection with an assault at the Summit Metro Parks.

Last week, Akron officers and a metro park ranger responded to a call in the 1100 block of Cuyahoga Street near Trailhead that a woman was screaming for help. When officers arrived and spoke with the 33-year-old victim, who police reported as being visibly shaken, she told officers that she was coming from the bathroom when an unknown male grabbed her from behind and began assaulting her.

Police said three good Samaritan women heard the victim screaming for help and went to her aid. During the attack, one of the women reportedly hit Armour in the head with a rock, and they helped pull the victim away from him.

Armour is being charged with a first-degree felony of kidnapping, second degree felony of attempted rape, third degree felony of abduction, and a fourth-degree felony of two counts of gross sexual imposition.

“This was a violent attack, and my office will work hard to hold this offender accountable,” Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich said in a statement. “I also want to thank the three good Samaritans who came to the victim’s rescue and helped capture the suspect.”

Armour’s next court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
