Deputies from the Summit County Sheriff's Office apprehended a 23-year-old male who barricaded himself inside a Coventry Township residence after discharging his firearm following a domestic argument on Tuesday, according to officials.

Deputies responded to reports of a dispute between the suspect and a female in the 2900 block of Prior Road, after which the suspect began making threats and discharged his firearm while in the house. The female and children were evacuated from the residence before deputies were able to convince the suspect to leave the residence without further incident, according to a release.

The suspect was charged with discharging a firearm on or near a prohibited premises (third-degree felony) and inducing panic (first-degree misdemeanor), and was transported to Summit County Jail.
