    When will Summit County pools and splash pads close for the season?

    The summer season is drawing to a close but hot days are continuing , with temperatures expected to reach into the mid 80s through next week.

    For those Summit County residents looking for ways to continue to beat the seemingly ever-present heat, here are the closing dates for local public pools and splash pads:

    Akron

    The last day for Perkins Woods Pool is Saturday, Aug. 31. There will be an open swim from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

    Joy Park Community Center Splash Pad (825 Fuller St.) and Firestone Park Community Center Splash Pad (1480 Girard St.) will be open through the end of September, weather permitting.

    Cuyahoga Falls

    The three public splash pads ( downtown Cuyahoga Falls , Indian Mountain Park and Quirk Cultural Center) are open through September, weather permitting. The splash pads open daily at 10 a.m. The downtown splash pad closes at 10 p.m. every day while the other two close at dusk.

    Water Works Family Aquatic Center has closed to the public for the season but remains open for season pass members and Natatorium annual members until Saturday, Aug. 31, when it will close at 2 p.m.

    Green

    Central Park splash pad (1795 Steese Road) will run through the end of Labor Day. The hours of operation are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    Twinsburg

    Twinsburg Water Park (10260 1/2 Ravenna Road) will be open through Labor Day. The water park's hours are from 10:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
