Stow and Barberton each won a half Friday when the two teams met at Bulldog Stadium.
As Stow coach Martin Poder told his team, "A win is a win"
Stow took a 35-7 lead into half and weathered Barberton's comeback attempt, hanging on for a 35-21 win.
Playing with a short field for most of the first half, Stow got two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown from quarterback Jacob Harrington. Harrington finished the game 6-of-13 for 75 yards with two TDs.
Stow also benefited from good special teams play in the first half, forcing a pair of short punts from Barberton. Paul Biltz also returned a kickoff 98 yards to set up Harrington's 1-yard TD plunge.
Nick Hosey had a big game on both sides of the ball for Stow. He rushed for 18 yards and 1 TDs, as well as two interceptions. His last interception in the endzone iced the game for Stow with 1:14 left.
Barberton's lone score in the first half came on an 82-yard bomb from Ayden Tritt to Mark Tavanello.
Switching to a power-I formation, Barberton rushed for a pair of third-quarter touchdowns from Sean Wright Jr. of 1 and two yard. Wright finished with 32 rushes for 141 yards. However, a pair of late turnovers ended Barberton's chances.
Stow's Nick Hosey snags his second interception of the night, this time in the end zone to snuff out Barberton's last drive. Stow takes over at its own 20 with 1:14 left.
Barberton drove inside the Stow 10, but the Bulldogs force a fumble, which is recovered by Earnest Cobin III. Stow takes over at its own 8 with 8:08 left in the game.
Barberton has fought its way back into the game, but Stow is driving to start the final quarter. Bulldogs will open the fourth with second and 10 at the Barberton 38.
Barberton turned the onside kick into a 2-yard TD from Sean Wright Jr. Wright Jr. also ran in the two-point conversion, cutting Stow's lead to 35-21 with 1:53 left in the third quarter.
Magics with another onside kick attempt, but Stow recovers this time at its 49.
Barberton completed a 12-play drive with a 1-yard TD plunge from running back Sean Wright Jr. Stow blocked the extra point, keeping it at 35-13 Stow with 5:46 left in the third quarter.

On the ensuing kickoff, Stow's Paul Biltz returned the kick 98 yards, but was brought down at the 1-yard line. On the next play, Jacob Harrington plunged in on the quarterback sneak. Zach Conrad's PAT made it 28-7 Bulldogs with 6:38 left in the first half.
After another short punt from the Magics, Stow takes advantage of the short field.

After a five-yard penalty, Stow opened the second quarter with a 27-yard TD pass, as Jacob Harrington hit Daylon Keeling in the back of the end zone. Conrad's PAT makes it 14-0 Stow with 11:53 left in the second quarter.
Stow takes the early lead after an exchange of punts to start the game. Barberton's punt went only 10 yards, setting up the Bulldogs on the Magics' 33.
On the next play, Caden Boyd went up the middle untouched for a 33-yard TD run. Zach Conrad hit the extra point to make it 7-0 Stow with 7:41 left i nthe first quarter.
Stow football has decided to honor coach Sean Flaherty by retiring the number 87 from the program. Flaherty died this summer.
However, Stow plans on giving the No. 87 to its top player each week this fall. Tonight, quarterback Jacob Harrington will wear No. 87 for the Bulldogs.

Stow vs. Barberton football players to watch
Stow quarterback Jacob Harrington accounted for two touchdown passes in Week 1 against Medina. He went 10-of-25 passing for 70 yards with two scores and threw three interceptions, along with 73 yards rushing. Caden Boyd added 72 yards on 12 carries against Medina. Daylon Keeling is likely to Harrington's top target. Barberton's Josiah Wright rushed for 55 yards on 18 carries, making him the lone offensive bright spot in the Magics' shutout loss to Wadsworth.
A look at the Barberton vs. Stow football coaches
Tony Gotto is his 11th season with the Magics and had turned the program into a consistent winner with a record of 74-37 in Barberton. He has the most wins in program history.
Martin Poder is his third year as Stow head coach after serving as the Bulldogs' offensive coordinator under head coach Mark Nori. He has a record of 2-20 at Stow.
