The Hoban football team looked much more like itself Friday in a 21-7 win over Don Bosco Prep, NJ.
The Knights (1-1) avoided back-to-back losses to start the season for the first time with an impressive ground game against the Ironmen.
Brayton Feister led the way with 125 yards on 24 carries and scored three touchdowns.
The Knights tore it up on the ground to finish with 305 yards on 40 carries for a 7.6 yards average. Evan Roksandich rushed 10 times for 91 yards and Elbert Hill had 51 yards on three carries.

The Knights avoided a personal foul penalty that could have spelled a bit of disaster when they stopped the Ironmen at midfield to end the quarter. Don Bosco will punt the ball to start the fourth after a combined two-drive quarter.
If you've watched the Knights, you know they love to tote the rock in between the tackles. Hoban opened the third quarter with 15-play, 71-yard drive that took 6:43 off the clock.

Who else. Brayton Feister from 2 yards out. The sophomore now has 16 carries for 100 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

The Knights looked to make it 28-7 with 5:14 left, but a fumble on the 1-yard line turned into first-and-10 on the DBP 13. Hoban held and will get the ball back on its own 47 with 3:32 left.
The Ironmen's insufficiencies inside the Knights 20-yard line finally paid off on their third trip. It resulted in a 3-yard touchdown pass from Deven Sisler to Isaiah to make Hoban 14, Don Bosco Prep 7 with three seconds left before halftime.

The Knights went for it on fourth-and-1 from the Don Bosco 48 and Brayton Feister turned it into a touchdown. Hoban 7, Don Bosco 0 1:52 left in the first quarter.
As always, the Knights are one of the most talent-rich football teams in the nation. Arguably their best player is linebacker Eli Lee , an Ohio State recruit who 247 Sports ranks as Ohio’s 19th-best player. Junior Elbert Hill is ranked No. 54 in the class of 2026 in the nation and the third-best cornerback in the nation. If you look at all the recruiting services collectively, he’s ranked No. 1. Junior Sam Greer is the 222nd ranked player nationally and is the ninth ranked player in Ohio. Senior Tight end Tayte Crable is the 67th best player in Ohio, and he’s committed to Toledo.
Who to watch for Don Bosco football
Northwestern commit Marquet Dorsey Jr. is one to watch on defense, as is three-star safety Mikahi Allen , who has 12 offers including ones from Penn State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Minnesota, West Virginia, Washington and Pitt.
A look at the Hoban, Don Bosco football coaches
Tim Tyrrell is in his 12th season as coach for the Knights and his 23rd season overall. He has a 129-23 record at Hoban and has led the squad to the state finals nine of the last 10 seasons. He holds a 194-74 career record.
Dan Sabella enters seventh season with the Ironmen and is 37-27. He has a career record of 151-89. Don Bosco is a perennial contender having won 15 state titles with the last coming in 2015.
