Reigning Ohio Division III state champion Toledo Central Catholic (2-0) and star cornerback recruit Victor Singleton Jr. will face off against Detroit Catholic Central (1-0) on Friday, Sept. 6.

Singleton is ranked No. 4 overall in the class of 2026 by 247sports.com and was selected to the USA Today Network Preseason All-Ohio Football Team . He's also the No. 4 overall cornerback in the nation and ranked No. 2 overall regardless of position in the state of Ohio's 2026 class.

Singleton has not yet made a college commitment, but he's received offers from Akron, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Kent State, Michigan State and Pitt, among other schools.

His squad will play against DCC — a team that lost 24-17 on the last play of the game last season to Northville in the Division I District Championship — in an early-season matchup of top high school football programs.

Army commit Jaden Pydyn leads Detroit Catholic Central at running back

On the other side from Singleton, running back Jaden Pydyn — an Army commit — leads the way for DCC.

Pydyn will be running behind offensive lineman Danilo Guberinich, a Western Michigan commit with a 3-star rating on 247sports.
