Akron police chase suspect in connection to Friday shooting in North Hill to I-480 in Cleveland

A police chase Friday afternoon led officers to briefly block off lanes on 480 westbound at Tiedeman Road, according to Beacon Journal news partner News 5 . The freeway is reportedly back open.

Akron police told News 5 that a shooting occurred Friday morning inside North Side Saloon on East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue, with a female victim subsequently getting into the suspect's pickup truck after being shot in the leg. It is unclear if the victim entered the truck willingly or unwillingly, police said.

Akron police later chased the vehicle out of city limits, along with other departments, with the pursuit ending on I-480 westbound near Tiedeman Road.

The suspect is being brought back to Akron for questioning, News 5 reported. The status of the shooting victim is unknown.
