Akron police are investigating a shooting resulting in multiple victims outside of the Park Lane Manor Apartments in East Akron late Wednesday.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at about 10 p.m. in the 700 block of Clifford Avenue. Upon arrival, police discovered a 53-year-old male in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers administered first aid before he was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General.

Officers were later notified three additional victims transported themselves to Summa Health Akron City Hospital. Two of the victims, women aged 19 and 45, sustained gunshot wounds. The other victim, a 43-year-old woman, was injured after being trampled by the fleeing crowd as gunfire erupted.

The injuries were all non-life-threatening and the victims were in stable condition upon arriving at the hospital, according to the police.

Investigators determined an argument broke out during a gathering at the apartment complex, during which an unknown suspect fired shots.

Anyone with information is advised to contact the Akron Police Department Detective Bureauat 330-375-2490 or 330-375-2Tip. Residents may also provide anonymous information to the Summit County Crimestoppers by calling 330-434-COPS.
